This binding is similar to the coptic stitch, but it has a hard spine, and if you want to, you can cut out all of the pages when you've filled this journal and sew in new ones without taking apart the covers. It's very sturdy and another popular option for journals and sketchbooks. In this workshop we'll be using bookbinding needles and waxed thread, bookboard, bookcloth and decorative papers, PVA glue, bone folders, and awls.
